The grand finale of TV3’s reality show “Celebrations” was held on Sunday 8th January, 2017 at the International Centre Gospel Church (ICGC) – Calvary temple on the Spintex road, Accra-Ghana.
Celebrations… “Heaven must hear” is the slogan for the show. It portrays clearly the aim of the show.
Rev. Azigizar Jnr., the presenter of the show introduced the judges; Mr. Benjamin Amakyi and Nii Okai. He also acknowledged the presence of various dignitaries, such as pastors, Joe Mettle, Francis Amo and other noble gospel musicians.
The show started off with an energetic and awesome performance by Francis Amo, which got the grounds heated and the crowd excited.
Out of the twelve groups that took part in the competition, four of them made it to the finals; Dynamic, P&P, LGC and S-Royals. The compulsory song they were all required to do was “Da No Ase (Ghanaian dialect),” which mean “Thank Him.”
Dynamics mounted the stage first in their beautiful African Kente print. They did an Adowa dance to complement their performance.
They were followed by P&P, who were also in a black and yellow African print attire. LGC and S-Royals followed to do their own rendition of “Da No Ase.” They were also clothed in African print attire.
All four groups came back to do separate songs which was beautifully rendered.
Other performances for the night included Minister Kofi from Royal house Chapel Intl., as well as a group of enthusiastic South African dancers.
After deliberations from the judges, S-Royals stole the show and emerged winners. LGC, P&P, and Dynamic choirs were Fourth, Third and Second runner-ups respectively.
All in all, it was a great show.
