Michael Jonathan Nii Antonio Martey is one of Ghana’s finest Praise and Worship leaders. His dynamic gift gives him the ability to move congregations in worship and praise sessions at both events and church services. Aside worship and praise, he performs other forms of Christian Music at acoustic sessions and corporate events with his guitar or saxophone. His ministry has seen him share stages with many gospel greats including Nii Okai, Joe Mettle, Eugene Zuta, Mary Ghansah, Bernice Offei, Eric Reverence (UK) and their likes.
Michael started music as a young boy playing the musical instruments he was able to learn. Growing up as a church boy, his gift was influenced by the likes of Andrea Crouch, Sammy Okposo, Dave Lubben, Ron Kenoly, Alvin Salughter, Sonny Okunsuns, Mary Ghansah, Helena Rabbles, Danny Nettey and many others.
As a natural baritone, his soulful voice expresses how passionate he is about the love of God and how it is able to impact lives when communicated through music.
He leads “The Seeds”, a dynamic worship team with anointed and talented young singers and musicians who are also Praise Freaks. Michael Antonio and The Seeds host a monthly Worship Series – Nicanor Worship Series, and an annual Worship Concert – Nicanor Moment – which gathers thousands of worshippers to celebrate God.
Michael Antonio leads Praise and Worship every week at his local church, Action Chapel International – Wonder Cathedral, Adenta – Accra. A multicultural congregation presided over by Senior Bishop James Kwaku Saah and Bishop Ben Sallah.
He is married to Antoinette and they’re blessed with a lovely baby girl, Mikki.
